Parasite Prevention – External Parasites

Some parasites burrow into or live on the skin of your pet. These external parasites, or ectoparasites, can cause discomfort, skin inflammation, anemia, or infect your pet with other serious illnesses. The most common of these parasites are fleas, ticks and mites.

Please visit the Companion Animal Parasite Council for a map of what parasites your pet may be in contact with. The Companion Animal Parasite Council is a non-profit, independent group of experts that includes veterinarians and veterinary parasitologists.
